Harry Maguire posts upset message after Man United omission and striker stint
Harry Maguire shared his frustration with Manchester United fans after he finished the defeat at Nottingham Forest by playing up front.
Maguire was omitted from Ruben Amorim’s starting XI but made a brief appearance as a substitute against Forest after returning from a calf injury.
Anthony Elanga, once a Man United prospect, delivered the decisive blow, racing the length of the pitch, brushing aside Alejandro Garnacho, and finishing with composure to seal the win for Forest.
The loss left supporters frustrated, with some Man United fans even calling for Garnacho to be sold after his struggles on the night.
Maguire nearly salvaged a point in stoppage time, his goal-bound effort dramatically cleared off the line by Murillo in the dying moments.
Despite the disappointment, the centre-back still had a message for the fans after his return from injury.
Manchester United fans call for Harry Maguire’s exit despite Ruben Amorim backing
Maguire took to Instagram after the defeat, writing: “Happy to be back but frustrated with the result. Thanks for your support, see you all Sunday Reds.”

His return is a boost for Amorim, with United’s defence struggling due to injuries to Lisandro Martinez and Ayden Heaven.
Football Insider revealed that Maguire is expected to hold sit-down talks with Amorim about the club’s plans for his future, after signing a one-year extension so he doesn’t leave as a free this summer.
But Man United fans criticised Amorim’s decision to extend Maguire’s contract due to inconsistencies in the defence this season. Maguire has also faced scrutiny from Man United supporters, as the side sit in 13th place in the Premier League with a tough run of fixtures in April.

Everton eye Harry Maguire as Jarrad Branthwaite replacement
Despite his contract extension, Maguire could still leave this summer, with the Toffees emerging as a potential destination.
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Maguire could replace Jarrad Branthwaite at Goodison Park, as the youngster continues to attract interest from the likes of Man United and Real Madrid.
While the Englishman remains a key figure in Amorim’s squad, his future at Old Trafford is far from certain, and a summer exit is looking increasingly likely.
