Harry Maguire sends message to Man United fans after they want deal ‘terminated’
Harry Maguire stepped up when it mattered most as Manchester United secured a dramatic victory over Ipswich, despite being down to ten men.
Man United edged past Ipswich in a thrilling 3-2 win at Old Trafford, with Maguire’s second-half goal proving decisive.
The visitors struck first after a mix-up between Andre Onana and Patrik Dorgu gifted Jaden Philogene an easy tap-in. However, United responded quickly with two goals before Dorgu saw red following a VAR review. Ex-PGMOL chief Keith Hackett believes Dorgu was correctly sent off in an “obvious” decision for the referee.
Maguire was slammed by Man United fans for his performance against Everton, with some stating they want his contract to be terminated. However, he delivered when it counted, scoring the winner just two minutes into the second half. Despite the recent criticism, the defender celebrated the crucial victory with a defiant message to the fans.

Bruno Fernandes responds as Harry Maguire celebrates match-winning goal
The 31-year-old shared a post on Instagram after the victory, uploading a picture of his celebration with the caption: “Match winner at Old Trafford.”
Bruno Fernandes responded in the comments, writing: “Let’s go big man.” Other teammates, including Amad, Christian Eriksen, and Diogo Dalot, also showed their support by engaging with the post.
Football Insider revealed that Maguire is set to hold talks with Ruben Amorim about his long-term future, despite recently signing a one-year contract extension.
Though Maguire faced criticism from Man United fans earlier in the season, he has become a key figure under Amorim, making 26 appearances and starting 11 of the last 12 Premier League matches. He has also contributed three crucial goals, including the late winner against Leicester and a dramatic 91st-minute equaliser against Porto in the Europa League.

Ruben Amorim under Man United sack pressure
Amorim is feeling the pressure from Man United supporters, as the team has shown little improvement since he replaced Erik ten Hag.
Despite the win, United languish in 14th place in the Premier League, with this victory marking their first in four league games.
However, the resilience shown against Ipswich, especially after going down to ten men, could provide a much-needed confidence boost. The Portuguese coach will be hoping his side can carry that same fight into their next fixture against Fulham in the FA Cup on 2 March.
