Harry Redknapp delivers scathing verdict on Aston Villa, tears into attacker

Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp believes that Aston Villa need to seriously improve, despite losing to them 1-0 on Sunday.
Redknapp also gave a sarcastic comment about Villa attacker Gabriel Abonlahor, claiming it was nice for him to get some rare minutes on the pitch.
The 30-year-old has suffered with injuries during his career and he had not scored since February 2016 prior to the weekend.
However, he came on as a substitute in the Midlands derby against Birmingham in the 59th minute and scored a decisive goal in the narrow victory.
Redknapp has destroyed the fitness of Agbonlahor following the result and believes his Birmingham side were extremely unfortunate to lose at Villa Park.

“Gabby? He’s done well today, he’s had ten minutes, that’ll keep him happy for another year won’t it. Fantastic,” Redknapp said, as quoted by the Daily Mail. “We can’t sit here and say Villa were good can we? Be honest.
“We’ve seen fantastic teams here over the years and Steve has a lot of work to do if that’s the best they can do. We didn’t deserve to lose the game.”
Bruce will be hopeful of competing for promotion with Villa next season, but rival manager Redknapp believes they still have a long way to go.
They have been unable to match pre-season expectations and are on course for a mid-table finish, following relegation from the Premier League in the previous campaign.
Agbonlahor will be desperate to regain some full fitness and be involved in Bruce’s plans going forward.
The left winger has been a loyal servant to the Midlands club since graduating through their academy and now has 383 senior appearances under his belt for them.
