'This summer could be difficult' – Redknapp fires transfer warning to Levy over Tottenham star (not Walker)
By Matt Bullin
Harry Redknapp has claimed Dele Alli is currently playing better football than Paul Pogba, but warns that Daniel Levy will need to start paying market salaries soon, or risk losing his stars.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been a star in Tottenham’s fantastic season which sees them sit second in the Premier League at the moment.
Alli burst onto the scene last season following his £5million transfer from MK Dons, but this season the starlet has made real progress under Mauricio Pochettino.
He has 17 goals and seven assists in his 33 Premier League games this term, as well as starring in Spurs’ FA Cup run – scoring three goals and providing two assists in five games.
Meanwhile Pogba has had an indifferent season at Old Trafford following his record-breaking £89million move from Juventus last summer.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has played 29 Premier League matches, scoring four goals and supplying three.
Writing in his Evening Standard column, Redknapp compared the two midfielders attributes and their price tags – stating Alli is currently worth more than Pogba to his side both financially and on the pitch.
The former Spurs boss said: “What is Dele Alli worth now? £90million? Maybe more?
“Paul Pogba cost that much and Alli is a better player at the moment.
“It is said Alli is on £50,000 a week. I’m sorry but that wage doesn’t guarantee you even an average Premier League player anymore. There’s plenty of rubbish in the league on more money than that.
“This summer could be difficult if other big clubs make moves for Tottenham’s best players.”
This comes amid news that Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker is unsettled and seeking a summer move.
The Evening Standard claim the club will now be willing to sell him for offers over £35million.
It’s the first sign of disunity in a squad that had looked very together throughout the season, and there’s a fear that more of Tottenham’s stars will have their heads turned by big-money offers.
Alli’s Tottenham currently sit four points behind Chelsea in the race for the title with four games to go.
Next up for Spurs is a trip to the London Stadium this Friday night to take on West Ham as they look to close the gap on Chelsea to just one point.
