Harry Wilson opens door to Leeds transfer, his priority is revealed
Leeds United have been given a boost in their hopes of signing Harry Wilson in January with his future role at Fulham uncertain, sources have told Football Insider.
Wilson was the subject of last-ditch talks between Leeds and Fulham on deadline day as the Whites tried to bolster their attacking options, but the Wales winger never got on the plane Leeds had scheduled.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Leeds could renew their interest in Wilson in January and will fancy their chances if his minutes are on the decline at Fulham.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday that with Wilson out of contract at the end of the season, Leeds will re-open talks to sign him in January after Fulham look to avoid losing the 27-year-old for nothing.
Fulham may be encouraged to sell Wilson in the winter window after signing Samuel Chukwueze and Kevin on deadline day, and my sources have said that this could see Wilson push for a move himself.
Sources have told Football Insider that Wilson wants to rack up as much game-time as possible as his Wales side attempt to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, and a move to Elland Road may provide him with the best opportunity.

Welsh connection gives Leeds boost in Harry Wilson chase
Wilson’s performance was billed as “fantastic” as Wales beat Kazakhstan during the international break, and that 1-0 win came alongside two potential future Leeds team-mates in Karl Darlow and Dan James.
Speaking on the new Inside Track podcast, I noted that Leeds are well placed to offer Wilson an exit route from Fulham if he looks for one in January, with four other Wales regulars in Daniel Farke‘s squad.
“For Harry Wilson, if Wales are to qualify for the World Cup next summer, he won’t want to be kicking his heels on the bench at Fulham.

“He’ll be looking to play regularly, and if that opportunity was to rise at Leeds United or elsewhere, it is something he might be interested in.”
Leeds to address summer failings with marquee signing
Football Insider revealed that Farke was left fearful for the season ahead at Leeds after they missed out on both Wilson and Manor Solomon on deadline day, leaving him with an hugely under-powered attack.
Wilson returned to Marco Silva‘s starting XI for Fulham’s 1-0 win over Leeds on Saturday and he drew a good save from Darlow with a free-kick, as Gabriel Gudmunsson‘s own goal gifted Fulham the points.
Silva starting Wilson against the side he came so close to joining implies that he still sees the Welshman as a key player, but after new winger Kevin‘s instant impact off the bench, it remains to be seen how long that will be the case.
