Hart tipped for key role in Celtic knocking Rangers off their perch – Robinson

Paul Robinson has insisted Joe Hart to play a massive role as Celtic look to wrestle back the Premiership title from Rangers.

The ex-Spurs goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 34-year-old’s “experience and leadership” would prove invaluable to the Bhoys.

Hart signed for the Hoops earlier this month (August 3rd) and is one of eight new faces at Parkhead this summer.

Celtic

The 75-cap England international made the switch to the Hoops from Tottenham for a reported £1million.

Celtic visit Rangers for the first Old Firm clash of the season on Sunday (29th August).

Robinson insisted Hart could play a key part in any potential success for the Hoops.

He told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “Having his experience and leadership in the dressing room is going to be so beneficial for them over the coming years.

“I think it’s a great move for him and a very sensible move from Celtic.

“Celtic are playing much more exciting football under Postecoglou. It’s quicker, they’re penetrating teams a lot more.

“They’re unbeaten in six, and they’re winning in style – 6-0 for example in the last game.

“Both teams will see this as a must-win game.”

Hart has started all six of the games he has been eligible for since joining Celtic.

The Bhoys finished 25 points behind Rangers in the Premiership title fight last season.

Celtic

They have not tasted victory in an Old Firm match for six games.

Their last victory over the Gers came back in December 2019.

In other news, Alan Hutton claims Rangers may have “an advantage” on Sunday.
