Harvey Elliott and Adam Wharton react to Jonathan Rowe’s passionate message
Harvey Elliott and Adam Wharton were among the players to react to Jonathan Rowe’s message after his dramatic winning goal in the U21 Euros final for England.
England successfully defended their European crown with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Germany to seal back-to-back titles under Lee Carsley.
Elliott, who has been linked with a potential exit from Liverpool this summer, opened the scoring inside just five minutes, with Omari Hutchinson doubling the advantage shortly after.
However, England couldn’t hold onto their lead as Germany fought back with two quick goals to send the final to extra-time.
But Carsley’s young side showed their character, and it was former Norwich winger Rowe who stepped up, latching onto a cross in extra-time to score the decisive goal.
Following the victory, the Marseille forward shared a post on Instagram to mark the occasion, attracting plenty of reactions from teammates.
Premier League stars react to Jonathan Rowe after England’s U21 Euros triumph
Rowe posted on Instagram following his dramatic winning goal, which sealed a second consecutive U21 European Championship title.
He wrote: “By the Grace of God we did it! This feeling is like no other. European Champions.”
The message attracted plenty of reactions, with Elliott responding by calling him “The best” while Tyler Morton — dubbed the ‘new Kevin De Bruyne’ after his assist in the final — added: “Deserve it brother.”
Several other Premier League players also showed their appreciation, with Newcastle’s Lewis Hall, Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, and Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah all liking the post.
Rowe completed a move to Marseille last season, initially on loan, which has now been made permanent this summer.
Despite the switch, the winger has endured a tough first campaign in France, scoring just three goals in over 800 minutes of action.
However, his performances for England this summer were a different story, with Rowe scoring twice in the tournament and proving to be the match winner in a memorable final.

While Elliott was in high spirits celebrating the Euros success, attention is now turning to his club future.
Football Insider revealed that Brighton are pushing to sign the Elliott in a deal that could be worth up to £40 million.
The 22-year-old is understood to be frustrated with his role at Liverpool and is eager to secure regular first-team football, which is something Brighton are prepared to offer as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
