Harvey Elliott sends message to Jack Hinshelwood after source’s Brighton transfer reveal
Harvey Elliott has sent a message to his “legend” England Under-21 teammate and Brighton star Jack Hinshelwood after the UEFA U21 Euro success.
Lee Carsley’s side ran out 3-2 winners against Germany after Elliott put the Young Lions 1-0 up after just five minutes and Omari Hutchinson doubled their lead.
Germany’s Nelson Weiper pulled one back shortly before half-time, and Paul Nebel scored an equaliser to send the game to extra time, where Jonathan Rowe’s header won it.
Following the game, the 22-year-old Elliott was awarded the Player of the Tournament award after scoring five goals in the six games as a huge part of the starting XI.
Off the back of his impressive displays, the midfielder is attracting plenty of interest about a move away from Liverpool, with Brighton among the interested clubs.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Brighton could push to sign Elliott in a move which could be worth £40million.

Brown previously told Football Insider that Elliott is unhappy with his role at Liverpool and is keen to play regular first-team football elsewhere.
Following the Under-21s’ Euros campaign, it has become clear that Elliott already shares a close relationship with a potential future teammate at club level.
The midfielder took to social media to share images with Hinshelwood, who also played a big role in the team which helped lift the trophy.
Elliott shared a photo of the pair to his Instagram story on 29 April labelling his teammate a “legend”, and followed it up with a video describing him as “incredible”.
The close relationship between the pair was made clear, and has led to suggestions that Hinshelwood could convince the Liverpool star to join Brighton.

Joao Pedro update emerges as Chelsea race Newcastle
Amid ongoing speculation about incoming transfers at Brighton, there is also a lot of talk about players who could potentially walk away from the Amex.
Brown told Football Insider on 29 June that Chelsea want to sign Joao Pedro and are prepared to hijack Newcastle’s move to sign the forward.
Enzo Maresca is keen to add to his attacking options after completing a deal for Liam Delap amid growing uncertainty over Nicolas Jackson’s future.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider last month that Pedro wants to leave Brighton and join Chelsea as he plans to make the step up to a bigger team.
