Hazard delivers one sentence verdict on Tottenham midfield magician

By Danny Wright

Micky Hazard has summed up in one sentence how highly he rates Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

When asked if he believes that the midfield magician is an underrated member of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, former Spurs player Hazard was quick to challenge any such notion.

“No he’s a great player,” said the 57-year-old on his personal Twitter account.

Hazard had two spells at White Hart Lane and was a part of the famous 1980s squad that lifted the FA Cup in ’82 and the UEFA Cup in ’84.

He went on to play for Chelsea, Portsmouth and Swindon before returning to Tottenham for a two-year stint in the mid-1990s.

Eriksen has recently been named as Tottenham supporters clubs’ player of the year for his impressive displays in Pochettino’s squad this season.

The 25-year-old has missed just one league game this term and made a total of 46 appearances across all competitions.

His ability in front of goal has been a large factor in helping Spurs reach the FA Cup semi-final and make a serious bid to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title.

Eriksen has scored 12 times in both domestic and European football throughout the campaign, and has also supplied an impressive 20 assists to his teammates.
