Celtic fans baffled on Twitter as Rangers player is picked for Scotland

Celtic fans on Twitter have reacted with hilarity to the news that new Scotland manager Alex McLeish has picked Rangers striker Jason Cummings for the upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Hungary.

The team was announced a short time ago on the SFA’s official Twitter page and it was the presence of Cummings which got the most attention from Hoops fans.

The 22-year-old has scored five goals for the Gers since joining on-loan from Nottingham Forest in January, but he isn’t first choice striker for the Light Blues and was on the bench for the recent Old Firm match.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Cummings being in the squad:

When it comes to Celtic players in the squad, four have been named: Kieran Tierney – who seems to be the number one candidate to be next Scotland captain, Stuart Armstrong, James Forrest and Callum McGregor.

It is a bit of a surprise to see that Armstrong has been selected as he only made his return from hernia surgery in a late substitute appearance against Rangers on Sunday.

Hoops fans will be hoping that none of the players get injured as the matches take place only two weeks before the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers.
