‘He fits perfectly into Arsenal’ – Crystal Palace move made ahead of January

Crystal Palace are preparing for the potential departure of Daniel Munoz in January despite their determination to keep him.

Munoz is set to undergo surgery on a knee injury, with Oliver Glasner confirming that the Colombia international will likely miss four to six weeks of action.

That will likely not be enough to ward off interest in the transfer window, however, with several clubs keeping tabs on the 29-year-old defender.

Munoz confessed that Manchester United are one of his dream clubs in November, with the Red Devils set to sniff around a potential move.

Since arriving in January 2024, Munoz has been superb for Palace and is a key cog in Glasner’s system.

Crystal Palace keen on Sacha Boey

Crystal Palace are keen on a move for Sacha Boey in January, with the Frenchman struggling for regular minutes at Bayern Munich.

The 25-year-old made the switch from Galatasaray in January 2024, after seriously impressing in the Champions League and the Turkish Super Lig.

But injuries marred the defender’s first months in Munich, making just two appearances in the Bundesliga before he was ruled out for the rest of the season.

It was a similar case last season, with Boey suffering from several problems throughout the campaign.

Now, given the prominence of both Konrad Laimer and Josip Stanisic on the right for Vincent Kompany‘s side, Bayern appear ready to let the defender leave.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday that Palace are among the interested clubs, who are already making enquiries with Bayern ahead of a January move.

Bacary Sagna would have loved to see Boey sign for Arsenal

Several clubs were interested in a move for Boey in the summer of 2023, reportedly including Arsenal, although an official bid never materialised.

The Gunners’ former right-back, Bacary Sagna, endorsed the move, and said in an interview: “Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey is a player I really like.

“I think he will fit perfectly into Arsenal. As a right-back too, I have to say I think he’s great. I’m sure many clubs have Sacha Boey in mind.”

Two years on, however, and Palace may well be the Premier League beneficiaries of the defender’s talents.

Boey is slightly different stylistically from Munoz, representing a more defensively solid option, but the Frenchman shares the Colombian’s desire to get forward and deliver dangerous crosses into the box.
