‘He should never start again’ – Liverpool fans fume at ‘ineffective’ star’s performance vs Wolves
Liverpool fans have begun to turn on Federico Chiesa after his poor performance in their 2-1 win over Wolves.
The winger was given a rare nod to start on Saturday, but he only lasted just over an hour before Arne Slot hooked him off.
It was a disappointing display against a side that is rooted at the foot of the table, with only the likes of Florian Wirtz impressing at Anfield.
Previously, Chiesa had put in some great performances off the bench for Liverpool. However, his ineffectiveness when starting was on full show this weekend.

Chiesa started his first Premier League game of the season against Wolves on Saturday, after previously netting twice from the bench.
It was a chance for the winger to show Slot what he is missing, especially with Mohamed Salah at AFCON.
Yet, the Italian international was poor and had little effect on the match throughout.
Therefore, after the game, supporters made it clear that they did not wish to see Chiesa start for Liverpool again.

How bad was Chiesa against Wolves?
According to Fotmob on 28 December, Chiesa had a game to forget against Wolves.
The winger only completed 63 per cent of his passes, failed every dribble and cross attempt and did not even have a shot.

Therefore, it was clear that Chiesa failed his audition at Anfield, and it is unlikely that he will be starting a Premier League match anytime soon.
However, while he can still provide a positive impact off the bench, Slot should look to keep him in his plans as he could still even the side numerous points.
Hopefully, if Chiesa is given another start at Liverpool this season, he can prove to the manager and the fans that he is worthy of that place in the lineup.
