'He's a killer' – Manager claims Newcastle 23-year-old will secure big move this summer
Serbia international manager Mladen Krstajic has had his say on the future of goalmachine Aleksandar Mitrovic at St James’ Park, and if he is correct it isn’t good news for the Newcastle faithful.
Krstajic believes that the striker was right in moving away from the Magpies in the January transfer window when he made the switch to Fulham and has been given the game-time to flourish and show his goalscoring abilities.
Mitrovic, 23, has now bagged seven goals for the Cottagers since his move and showed what he is capable of on the international scene by notching up a further two goals against Nigeria.
As quoted in the Newcastle Chronicle, the Serbia supremo spoke openly about his compatriot’s future and said: “Mitrovic was very lucky to be coached by Jokanovic, a coach from Serbia who knows him very well. Mitrovic did a very good thing in choosing to come to Fulham.
“I’m sure that after the loan he will move to an even bigger, better club, where he can do much better. Personally, it’s a great pleasure to have a player such as Mitrovic in our squad.
“He’s a killer up front, which he proved against Nigeria.”

Football Insider verdict:
As good a manager Rafa Benitez is, you have to question his reasoning behind the loan departure of Mitrovic, particularly given the Magpies goalscoring woes. With Joselu and Ayoze Perez both struggling in front of goal, the door was wide open to give the 23-year-old Serb an opportunity to show his hand, but Rafa has been reluctant to entrust the forward with any real responsibility – and that seems personal. Mitrovic’s record since his loan move to Fulham has proved the Magpies boss has made the wrong decision here. If the Spaniard can keep hold of his striker this summer, he needs to be given a more prominent role in the team.
In other Newcastle United news, Magpies will land deal of the summer if beat Everton to signature of midfield kingpin available on a free.
