Maddison has shared an emotional update with supporters after undergoing surgery for the ACL injury that has ruled him out for much of the upcoming season.
Posting on Instagram, the Tottenham midfielder confirmed surgery had gone well but admitted it came during the “lowest low” of his career, adding that he was “heartbroken” the setback had arrived just as the Premier League campaign was about to begin and in a World Cup year.

We’re waiting for you,” while former Spurs teammate Heung-min Son, who recently moved to LAFC, added: “My boy, don’t know what to say… get well soon. You will come back stronger than ever.
