Craig Levein makes incredible claim about Celtic after Hearts end their run
Craig Levein has admitted that he wouldn’t put it past Celtic to go on another run of 69 games unbeaten as “they’re that good”.
In an interview with the Scottish Sun, the Hearts boss shared that he was “pleased” with his team ending the Hoops’ run but had nothing but praise for his opponents.
“I wouldn’t put it past them to go on another run of 69 games without defeat because they’re that good,” said Levein.
“All credit to Celtic to be in a position of going into a game to get their 70th without defeat, it shows a huge level of commitment, effort and quality to be able to do that.”
Hearts beat the Bhoys 4-0 as both Harry Cochrane and Kyle Lafferty scored a goal each with Manuel Milinkovic grabbing a brace in the second-half.
Celtic’s 69 game domestic unbeaten streak set a new record after they previously broken the British record that had stood for 100 years of 62 games.
Despite the defeat, Celtic still sit atop of the Scottish Premiership, two points clear of Aberdeen in second.
The Hoops could extend the gap to five points if they win their game in hand.
The Bhoys are next in action against Partick Thistle on Wednesday at Celtic Park.
The previous meeting between the two sides ended 1-0 in Celtic’s favour in August with Olivier Ntcham grabbing the only goal of the game.
In other Celtic news, Hoops fans were furious with this player for his performance in the defeat at Tynecastle.
