Hearts fans call out ‘shameful’ Celtic announcement – ‘Horrendous’
Hearts supporters are not pleased with the Jambos having to visit Celtic on the final day of the Scottish Premiership season.
Derek McInnes’ side have been the surprise package of the Scottish Premiership this season, and sit a point clear at the top of the table with six games to go.
With Rangers and Celtic ready to pounce on any mistakes, every game is now crucial for the Edinburgh club, if they want to win their first league title since 1960.
Hearts dropped points in a 2-2 draw at Livingston last time out, which stretched their winless run away from home to four games.
Their fixture list for the final five games has since been confirmed, which will see Hearts face three away trips, and host two home matches.
Hearts fans slam ‘horrendous fixtures’
Once they have hosted Motherwell in their final game before the split, Hearts will visit rivals Hibernian and host Rangers at Tynecastle.
Hearts will then travel to Motherwell, before their final home game of the season will see McInnes’ side take on Falkirk.
| Team | Points | Goal Difference |
| Hearts | 67 | 28 |
| Rangers | 66 | 32 |
| Celtic | 64 | 23 |
| Motherwell | 54 | 25 |
The Hearts support though are most frustrated at a final day trip to Celtic Park, which could decide the outcome of the title, whilst Rangers will travel to Falkirk and Hibs will host Motherwell
Hearts fans have vented their anger towards the SPFL, with one fan calling the fixtures “nonsense,” whilst another called them a “joke.”
Ex-FIFA referee weighs in on Marc Leonard controversy
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett told Football Insider that Marc Leonard was harshly sent off for Hearts against Livingston, meaning he will miss their next match against Motherwell.
Leonard was sent off in stoppage time for bringing down Robbie Muirhead on the right flank, with the Livingston forward looking to race away towards goal.
Kevin Clancy initially issued Leonard with a yellow card, before the referee changed his verdict after watching the incident back on the VAR screen.
Hackett believed there was not a clear and obvious error made by Clancy, and that VAR should not have got involved.
The former referee also came to the conclusion that the foul by Leonard was not denying a clear and obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
