Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom has been confirmed to have quite a good relationship with Swansea forward Oli McBurnie so it is vitally important that the Yorkshire giants make a summer move.

The Whites could find themselves in desperate need of a powerful centre-forward at the end of the season if Pierre-Michel Lasogga does not sign permanently at Elland Road when his loan ends.

Director of football Victor Orta simply must be keeping an eye on potential transfer targets, but his solution is simple having seen that McBurnie is in dazzling form in the Championship and also has a great relationship with Heckingbottom.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 21-year-old has said that he was gutted but understanding when Heckingbottom quit Barnsley to become the Leeds manager just days after he moved on loan to Oakwell.

Since signing for the Tykes in Janaury, McBurnie has scored five goals in seven Championship appearances, earning himself a call-up to the Scotland senior squad for the first time.

There’s little chance that Swansea will be making use of McBurnie next season as they will likely spend big to ensure themselves of another year of Premier League football.

So that may see the Leeds-born forward available for loan again, or even better, a permanent transfer.
