Chris Sutton believes that Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong will leave the club in the summer.
Armstrong, 26, was only a second-half sub in the Hoops’ 2-0 Scottish Cup Final win over Motherwell and Sutton has claimed, while appearing on the Football on BT Sport show on Twitter, that the player will move on from the Hoops in the summer.
“I think he’ll be off. I just think it’s an odd one, Stuart Armstrong. (He) didn’t really commit before, so it’s an interesting summer…I think Armstrong will be off” Sutton said.

Darrell: "He's a friend of yours, Chris…"

The 27-year-old did agree a new deal with the Hoops in the summer, but it only really amounted to a one year extension to his contract and for the second season in a row the player only has one year left on his contract.
Football Insider verdict
It does seem likely that the midfield star will be on the move in the summer, and that will come as quite disappointing when you consider how influential he was in the ‘invincible treble’ season, when he scored 17 goals from midfield and was generally in the best form of his career. Perhaps influenced by his contract situation he has not kicked on this season, and although injuries have not helped, if you were picking the best Hoops team at this moment in time Armstrong would not make the first-team line-up, having been overtaken by the likes of Olivier Ntcham and Callum McGregor. The Hoops board and Brendan Rodgers will have learned their lesson about Armstrong’s contract from last season, and they will not want to be fooled again, which makes it highly unlikely that he will be offered a new deal from the Hoops and he will be set to move on in the summer.
