‘Henrik Pedersen set for Sheffield Wednesday sack’ as humiliating record is on track to be smashed vs Swansea
Sheffield Wednesday have had a miserable season to date in the Championship.
Ownership troubles have seen the Owls’ campaign collapse, with the Yorkshire side having no chance of survival going into the second half of the season.
In fact, Sheffield Wednesday could be relegated in the coming weeks, with Henrik Pedersen’s team still on minus points.
As a result, Pedersen is under heavy pressure at Hillsborough, with results simply not coming their way in recent weeks.
Now, supporters may get their wish if another bad result comes their way on Sunday.
Sheffield Wednesday on verge of goalless record vs Swansea City
Sheffield Wednesday are set to travel to Swansea City on Sunday as they look to end their terrible winless run.
There were positives in their 1-0 defeat to Wrexham last weekend, but it was still another loss and yet another game without a goal, before it was soon followed up with another defeat against Blackburn.
Now, according to BBC Sport on 7 February, if the Owls fail to score against Swansea, they will have gone nine games goalless in the Championship in a row.
This is something that has never happened before in Wednesday’s history, and if it occurs, Pedersen surely has to go.

While no manager will save the Owls this season, they have to try and give these games a go, especially when they have virtually nothing to play for.
However, if it is another defensive display that ends in a defeat and breaks this record, then it will become clear that it is time to pull the trigger.
Sheffield Wednesday’s record vs Swansea City
Sheffield Wednesday’s record against Swansea City is nothing to shout about.
The Owls have only once in their last nine meetings against Swansea, dating back to 2019.
While many of these ties have ended in draws, it is clear that Wednesday struggle against the Welsh side.

In the reverse fixture this campaign, Pedersen’s side lost 2-0 at Hillsborough in an early clash in the 2025-26 campaign.
Now, the manager will be looking to avoid a repeat of this fate, or he could well be out of a job come Monday morning following the game.
Hopefully, the Owls are able to pull off a shock result, to finally give the visiting fans something to shout about in 2026.
