Here’s what it means for Rangers loan star Mikey Moore as Tottenham get set to hire Igor Tudor

Tottenham are set to confirm the appointment of Igor Tudor until the end of the season, but it could spell bad news for Rangers and Mikey Moore.

Moore has been on loan to the Gers throughout the 2025-26 campaign and has highly impressed.

The winger has proven to be Rangers’ best attacking outlet, and there will be many Ibrox that want to see the 18-year-old return to the Glaswegians next season.

However, the appointment of Tudor will likely damage these hopes despite the manager only being at the North London club until the end of the season.

Mikey Moore unlikely to return to Rangers on loan

The appointment of Tudor only creates further uncertainty at Tottenham.

While the arrival of the former Juventus manager has not been received well, it will not last long, with the hope that a new long-term appointment can be made in the summer.

However, this will cause issues for Rangers, as whoever comes in will likely want to assess Moore, especially given his performances for Rangers.

As a result, it may take Tottenham months to decide if they want to send the youngster back out on loan, in which time, Danny Rohl will certainly have already replaced the winger.

In comparison, if Tudor’s appointment was a long-term one, discussion could have begun already in preparation for a loan extension when the season ends.

Therefore, it is hard to see Moore returning to Rangers anytime soon once Tudor’s appointment is finalised.

Will Djeidi Gassama be Moore’s replacement next season?

Another potential route Rohl may go is to put Gassama back on the left wing.

The former Sheffield Wednesday star often played in this position for the Owls under Rohl, and when Moore leaves, he may be tempted to return him to the left flank.

Gassama is one of the few summer signings that have shown potential at Ibrox this season, and if Rohl can add consistency to his game, he could be a star in the Scottish Premiership.

However, it remains to be seen if he is able to pull this off, or if the manager will once again look to the transfer market to potentially replace the Tottenham loanee.
