'He's Come Home' - Exclusive: Pundit bouncing at big Arsenal transfer development
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on new Arsenal goalkeeper Mat Ryan after he joined on loan from Brighton.
The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is over the moon that the 28-year-old, who supports Arsenal, has “come home”.
On Friday, the London club confirmed the signing of the Australia international on loan until the end of the season.
Technical director Edu claimed the shotstopper is a “proven talent” who “will further strengthen” Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Ryan was the Seagulls first choice goalkeeper for the early part of the 2020/21 campaign but was frozen out of Graham Potter’s side in mid-December.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the latest arrival at the Emirates, Campbell said: “Mat Ryan is a good, experienced goalkeeper.

“He is a decent keeper, who knows the Premier League well and is an Arsenal fan which is always a good thing – he has come home.
“It is thought that he will have limited game time but we do not know what is going to happen. Football is a funny game and it only takes one injury for you to get a run of games. We saw it last season when Leno got injured and Martinez was in.
“The great thing about Mat Ryan is, that he has played in the Premier League. He is an experienced goalkeeper who knows how to handle difficult situations.
“The Arsenal fans are now much more confident in their number two.”
