‘He’s even surprised to see Eric Dier score’ – Dele Alli reacts to Tottenham ace’s thunderbolt

By Harvey Byrne

Tottenham stars Dele Alli and Harry Kane have commentated on some iconic goals scored at White Hart Lane ahead of their final game at the famous ground this weekend.

There have been a number of memorable strikes at White Hart Lane and key duo Alli and Kane commented over Danny Rose scoring against Arsenal in 2010, Alli’s goal against Manchester United in 2016, Eric Dier’s goal against Manchester City in 2015 and Kane’s goal against Chelsea in 2015.

It was the strike from Alli’s close friend and teammate Dier that caught particular attention with the defensive player not known for his goal scoring ability and this led to Alli stating “you don’t see him score many of them” before pointing out that even Hart looked surprised to see him score.

“Eric Dier with the thunderbolt,” told Alli in the feature shown on Tottenham’s official Twitter account.

“You don’t see him score many of them, do you, that’s for sure.”

The camera then cut to an unhappy looking Hart, where Kane stated: “Oh Joe Hart doesn’t look too happy.”

Before Alli commented: “I think he’s even surprised to see Eric Dier in that one.”

Dier has been at Tottenham for three years now after joining from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014 for a £4million fee.

He has mainly been used as a defensive utility player, occupying the right-back, centre-back and defensive midfield positions during his time at the club.

The 17-time capped England international has played in 33 Premier League matches for Tottenham this season, returning just two goals, but he has still played a vital part in the club placing in second with three matches left.
