‘He’s finished’ – Everton fans roast ‘horrific’ player after what he did vs Bournemouth

Everton fell to a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Tuesday, as the Cherries came from behind to snatch the three points at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Iliman Ndiaye had put David Moyes’ side 1-0 up just before half-time with a coolly dispatched penalty.

However, two goals in three minutes in the second period saw the score flip on its head, with Rayan and Amine Adli both finding the back of the net.

Everton’s night would only get worse, as Jake O’Brien was sent off for a professional foul on Adli midway through the second period as the hosts were made to rue their missed chances early in the game.

As a result, Moyes’ side have missed a chance to leapfrog Liverpool before their away tie to Sunderland on Wednesday and further strengthen their European ambitions, with many Everton fans furious with Vitalii Mykolenko’s display.

Everton fans fume with Vitalii Mykolenko after Bournemouth defeat

Mykolenko has not had the best season at Everton.

The 26-year-old left-back has been a regular in the team for much of this season after his early injury issues.

However, Mykolenko has proven to be inconsistent at Everton, with his performances often drawing criticism from the fans.

Tuesday was no different, with the Ukraine international’s suspect defending, allowing Bournemouth to find the net.

Now, Everton fans have seemingly seen enough and have insisted that Mykolenko is the worst full-back in the league.

How bad was Mykolenko against Bournemouth?

According to Fotmob on 11 February, while Mykolenko didn’t have a bad game, he didn’t have a great one either.

The defender made two tackles, two clearances, won six out of nine ground duels and performed one recovery.

On top of this, he also helped out in attack, creating two chances and completing four crosses.

However, his defending for the Bournemouth goal is what will stick out to the Hill Dickinson faithful, as Everton missed out on a golden opportunity to pick up three points.

Now, Moyes may have to consider dropping Mykolenko, with his form appearing to get no better as the weeks go on.

Only time will tell if the full-back will do enough to convince the Scotsman to award him a new contract, with his deal at Everton set to expire in the summer.
