Heung-min Son: Tottenham talks underway, summer deal will be finalised – sources
Tottenham have opened talks with Heung-Min Son over a new deal and are confident it will be finalised in the summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 31-year-old forward is out of contract in North London in 2025, although Spurs hold an option to extend his stay for an additional year.
It is understood that initial talks between both parties have been held, but a new contract is not likely to be completed until the season is finished.
Both Son and Tottenham are eager to focus on the end of the 2023-24 campaign with Ange Postecoglou’s side firmly in contention for Champions League qualification.
Tottenham on track to finalise summer deal with Heung-Min Son
They currently sit fifth in the Premier League – five points behind the top four with 12 games remaining.
Saudi Pro League clubs have been widely linked with a move for Son this summer, but the South Korean star is happy in London and still wants to prove himself in the Premier League.

As revealed by Football Insider in February, Tottenham will not entertain any offers for captain Heung-min Son despite his contract situation.
Son was named captain at Spurs after Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich last summer and he has shone in a leadership role this season with 13 goals and six assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
