Sky Sports pundit identifies two Leeds figures as key to success

By Will Butcher

Leeds duo Garry Monk and James Beattie have been lauded by Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham after the team’s win against Norwich.

The Yorkshire giants took all three points from Alex Neil’s side on Saturday, which was clinched by a stunning Ronaldo Vieira goal in stoppage time.

Higginbotham, who has taken to punditry after a 17 years as a footballer, posted on his personal Twitter account that both Monk and Beattie were proving their calibre at Elland Road.

Leeds secured three points after coming from behind to win, with fan favourite Pontus Jansson and top scorer Chris Wood also finding the back of the net.

Along with assistant manager Pep Clotet, Monk and Beattie have joined forces for the second time in their short coaching careers after working together at Premier league outfit Swansea.

Leeds’ ninth win in 12 games in all competitions sees them move into a playoff spot in the Championship, a world away from languishing above the drop zone earlier this season.

The Yorkshire giants will be looking to consolidate their position in the top six as they play host to Newcastle on November 20 in front of Elland Road’s first sell-out crowd in six years.

In other Leeds news, Marcus Antonsson has posted this message on Twitter despite being an unused sub against Alex Neil’s Norwich.
