Rangers fans on social media were angry with the performance of Todd Cantwell during their 1-0 win over St Mirren on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers closed the gap to Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership to just five points after picking up their 17th league win of the season at the Paisley Stadium.
Cyriel Dessers scored the game’s only goal after 14 minutes to take his tally for the season up to 12 across all competitions.
Philippe Clement’s side struggled to create chances and ended the match with just two shots on target.
The Belgian made two changes at halftime, with Scott Wright and Todd Cantwell brought off in favour of Tom Lawrence and Ross McCausland.
It marks the second time in the past week that Cantwell has been hooked at half-time by Clement, with Wright replacing the former Norwich star during the break against Hibernian last Wednesday.
The 25-year-old has scored four goals and assisted four times for Rangers this season but has struggled for form in recent matches.
Gers supporters on social media were frustrated by Cantwell’s performance, with some calling for the club to sell him in the summer.
Rangers return to action next Saturday (3 February) when they host Livingston at Ibrox.
