Hoddle: No team in world would live with Tottenham if they signed these two players this summer
By Harry Sykes
Glenn Hoddle has claimed Tottenham would be unstoppable if they signed Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid playmaker Isco this summer.
The former Spurs manager outlined his transfer plan in the Mail on Sunday to transform the team into a superpower that could dominate the Premier League and in Europe.
Hoddle is convinced that manager Mauricio Pochettino already has many of the raw materials that has made them one of the best teams in England.
He has now called on club chiefs, led by owner Joe Lewis and chairman Daniel Levy, to be bold and ambitious in the transfer market to ensure the team can get even better.
“Tottenham need to make brave signings in the summer: target the best players and push on,” Hoddle wrote in the Mail on Sunday. “The title may be beyond them this season, though they will keep fighting to the end. But it is not beyond them in the future.

“Put bluntly, Tottenham aren’t just a top-four club. They have the opportunity to become a superpower in the Premier League and in Europe.
“If Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City have their eyes on Kylian Mbappe, Monaco’s teenage sensation, then so should Tottenham. What a statement that would make if they could sign him.
“Why not? He’s on the cusp of a great career and at Tottenham he would get to play for a great manager with a proven record of playing and improving young players. He’d play every week, which he can’t be sure of at Barcelona or Real Madrid.
“I’d look at Isco from Real Madrid as well. He might be at the biggest club in the world but he can’t be happy as the best player in their B team. Both players would fit perfectly into Tottenham’s system.”
Mbappe, 18, has emerged as the outstanding young striker in Europe after spearheading Monaco’s stunning progress into the Champions League semi-finals.
Isco, 25, has been a key squad man for Real in their impressive campaign but has been frequently omitted from the side for the biggest matches.
Tottenham are aiming to keep their title challenge alive on Sunday when they host Arsenal in the north London derby at White Hart Lane.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club have sensationally terminated the contract of one of their defenders.
