Arsenal defender Rob Holding has admitted his excitement at being able to complete a childhood ambition and play as himself in an Arsenal shirt on FIFA 17.

Holding, 20, signed for the Gunners this summer from Bolton and just as in real life, will now be part of Arsenal’s squad in the video game too.

The defender has been involved in the franchise before however and was included in last year’s version of the game with Bolton, FIFA 16.

When asked whether he was looking forward to being part of the Arsenal team in the new game, Holding told the Arsenal Twitter account: “Definitely – when I was younger I used to transfer myself to big Premier League teams”

The youngster has already made three appearances for the north London outfit since his arrival, picking up one yellow card across 270 minutes of football.

Holding made his debut for Arsene Wenger in Arsenal’s 4-3 loss to Liverpool on the opening day of the Premier League season.

The young defender has made 59 career appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Holding will now be hoping to secure a permanent position in his teams back-four and go on to establish himself as one of the club’s top defenders.

In other Arsenal news, fans reacted with sympathy on Twitter after Oliver Giroud was sent off in the team’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
