'Hope we ship him off' - Leeds fans tear into 27-year-old after horrendous error

By Harvey Byrne

Footage has emerged of defender Giuseppe Bellusci making a horrendous mistake for loan club Empoli – and Leeds fans on Twitter have taken the chance to rip into the player.

The 27-year-old is currently on loan at the Serie A club from the Yorkshire giants.

He has played 29 times for the struggling Italian top-flight side in the league this season, as Empoli sit just four points clear of the relegation zone with four matches left.

Now, one fan shared on Twitter on Friday afternoon a clip of the defender taking out his teammate before then tripping over his defensive partner, resulting in the opposition attacker receiving plenty of time to play a teammate through in the box.

The errors have understandably caused a lot of humour for the Leeds fan base on social media and many have given their own view on Bellusci.

One fan simply put “Bellusci = clown emoji,” while another told how he hoped the club sold him in the summer.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Bellusci joined Leeds in the summer of 2014 on a one-year loan deal before signing permanently a year later.

He has played 61 times in total for the Yorkshire club and when he returns in the summer he will still have a year left on his contract with Garry Monk’s team.

In other Leeds news, Graham Barrow has revealed he has a lot of time for this Whites senior man.
