Nabil Bentaleb has joined Bundesliga side Schalke – and Tottenham supporters took to Twitter to voice their reservations about the exit.
The official Spurs Twitter account announced the Algeria international’s season-long loan move to Schalke on Thursday.

German publication Bild claim that the 21-year-old midfielder’s move is a loan-to-buy deal with view to a permanent £16.2million transfer next summer.
Bentaleb found himself out of the Tottenham side this season and was omitted from both of Spurs’ match day squad’s of the new campaign.
However, fans of the White Hart Lane club still believe that Bentaleb has potential and some believe the move could come back to bite them in the future.
Here are a selection of their views on Twitter:
Losing Bentaleb is such a huge mistake. #THFC

Let's not forget only a short while ago both Bentaleb & Mason were our midfield saviours & the future of #THFC. let's wish them good luck

Whilst personally disappointed to see Bentaleb depart over players like Mason/Carroll still in squad, will always back Poch's choice.#THFC

Bentaleb is either gonna turn into Paul Pogba or Adel Taarabt. Time will tell. #THFC

Shame about Bentaleb. But if you don't buy into the gaffer that's what happens. He'll do well in the Budaslegia #THFC

Bentaleb made just five Spurs starts in an injury-hit campaign last season after falling behind Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Ryan Mason even when fit. He was not played for the club since February.
Pochettino has subsequently signed Victor Wanyama from former club Southampton to increase the competition for central midfield spots even further.
Bentaleb signed a new five-year deal last July on vastly improved terms and is said to earn more than Harry Kane and Dele Alli, who both had outstanding seasons and were named in the PFA Team of the Year.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Schalke Sporting Director Christian Heidel has denied any interest in Spurs attacker Son Heung-Min.
