‘Horrendous’ – Rangers fans demand big name is axed after his ’embarrassing’ display vs Kilmarnock

Danny Rohl still has problems to solve despite Rangers picking up their first win under his leadership against Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

Rohl lost his first game away at Brann in the Europa League, just days after he was announced as the new Rangers boss.

Rangers’ 2-1 win at Livingston had been their only Scottish Premiership win of the season, but victory over Kilmarnock leaves the Gers five points off rivals Celtic.

Celtic lost 3-1 to Hearts, as the Edinburgh club opened up an eight-point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Jack Butland makes ‘howler’ in Kilmarnock win

Goals from Derek Cornelius, Danilo Pereira, and Chermiti gave Rangers a comfortable victory over Kilmarnock, with two further goals ruled out by VAR.

Goalkeeper Jack Butland though had gifted the visitors their equaliser in the first half and fans have blasted the 32-year-old on social media for his error.

Butland with another howler. He’s had far too many of these calamitous mistakes over the past 2 seasons,” one fan said.

A Rangers fan commented: “Embarrassing again Butland might save a few but he’s prone to a mistake that’s a howler and again we might be playing within ourselves but it’s still to slow passes far to slow.”

Another fan was also perplexed by Butland’s error: “Not a clue what Butland was trying to do…it looked like he was trying to catch a frisby and missed.”

At least Butland has improved from last season and is just missing the ball rather than punching it directly into his own net,” one fan positively posted.

Whilst a supporter posted on social media: “Does butland ever learn. So many times last year we conceded the same goal with his butterfingers from corners and known him this will be the start of his months of mistakes done it last year and every club he’s been at.

Horrendous from Butland I bet his teammates would love to know what goes through his head sometimes…,” a supporter said.

Derek Cornelius shines against Kilmarnock

One of the biggest positives for Rohl in defence was the performance of Cornelius at centre-back, whom the manager did not start against Brann.

James Tavernier still got the nod at right-back despite his performance against Brann, with Max Aarons still having to settle for a place on the bench.
