‘Horrible’ – Arsenal fans rip into ‘non-existent’ starter who lost eight duels vs Bayern Munich
Arsenal notched yet another victory with a 3-1 win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
The midweek matchup was a meeting between the top two teams in the Champions League table, but it was the Gunners who came out on top in North London.
Jurrien Timber netted the opener for Arsenal, who were then pegged back by an equaliser from 17-year-old starlet Lennart Karl.
However, the hosts took control of proceedings in the second half and surged to a famous victory through strikes from Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli.
Mikel Arteta’s men turned in an excellent performance to bring Bayern Munich’s unbeaten start to the season to a close, but not everybody was at the top of their game.

Myles Lewis-Skelly blasted by Arsenal fans after xxx display
Football Insider recently revealed that Arsenal have no intention of letting Myles Lewis-Skelly leave on loan in January, despite interest mounting from across the Premier League.
The England hopeful has had to play second fiddle to Riccardo Calafiori in the left-back role for large parts of the season so far, but he was handed the start against Bayern Munich.
However, the 19-year-old turned in a performance that showed elements of his naivety and lack of experience at the very top level.
Lewis-Skelly found himself up against Michael Olise on several occasions, and that wasn’t a match-up that was kind to the starlet by any means during his 68 minutes on the pitch.
The poor performance from the youngster wasn’t lost on the Arsenal fans, who took no prisoners with their criticism of him on X during the game. One fan branded his defending as “horrible,” while another claimed he was “non-existent” on the left.
Another supporter outlined how he “fell asleep” for the visitors’ goal, while another labelled him “out of his depth.”
There were also suggestions that it was a “terrible” display from the defender, while several fans noted that it is now clear why he hasn’t been starting regularly.
Lewis-Skelly lost eight duels vs Bayern Munich
Lewis-Skelly’s future has been a major talking point at Arsenal of late, and it’s hard to argue that he wouldn’t benefit from a loan spell elsewhere after his latest display.
The youngster struggled to reach the required level in the midweek clash, as he was surrounded by some of Europe’s most prestigious talents.
Lewis-Skelly lost eight duels prior to being substituted by Arteta, a total which was higher than anybody else across the two teams, according to Sofascore.
He struggled to make any sort of positive mark on the game, as he also gave possession away on eight occasions.
The left-back is ultimately still trying to find his way in the game, but Wednesday’s encounter showed that he still has plenty to learn if he is to make it at the top of European football.
