How Carlos Baleba’s entourage feel about Liverpool as his family spotted at Anfield

Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba could have his head turned by Liverpool despite the strong interest in his services from Manchester United.

Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Man United are still interested in a deal for Baleba, having enquired about the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder has featured in all five of Brighton’s Premier League games this campaign, while he also helped the Seagulls to their 6-0 victory over League One Barnsley in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, 23 September.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has backed Man United to sell Bruno Fernandes and reinvest the money in either Baleba or Crystal Palace gem Adam Wharton.

Carlos Baleba’s close family have visited both Manchester United and Liverpool

Amid the transfer interest in Baleba, Brighton drew 2-2 with Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, 20 September.

The Seagulls sit just 14th in the top flight ahead of their upcoming trip to Chelsea, having earned just one win in five attempts.

Meanwhile, reporting via X on Wednesday, 24 September, Indy Kaila revealed: “Carlos Baleba’s close family members at Anfield tonight. They also visited Old Trafford on Saturday.

They are really impressed with the set up at Anfield.

On 23 September, Liverpool defeated Southampton 2-1 thanks to goals from both Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, with the latter being sent off for two yellow cards.

Arne Slot set to turn his attention to bolstering his midfield

Liverpool signed Isak on transfer deadline day to conclude a strong summer window in which Arne Slot heavily bolstered his forward line with the previous additions of Ekitike and attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz.

The Reds also strengthened their defence in the summer with the acquisitions of Giovanni Leoni, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez.

However, except for the attack-minded Wirtz, the Anfield club did not sign a new midfielder in the summer window, and still rely on stars like Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch.

But with Slot’s eyes now on Baleba, Liverpool could soon strengthen their options in the middle of the park.

Meanwhile, Liverpool face Crystal Palace in their next Premier League encounter on Saturday, 27 September, and will have to cope without Ekitike, thanks to the striker’s suspension.

The Merseyside outfit will then look to make it two wins in two in the Champions League when they head to Galatasaray.
