‘How is he a footballer?’ – Wolves fans rip into ‘pathetic’ Jackson Tchatchoua for what he did vs Arsenal
Wolves fans have slammed Jackson Tchatchoua on social media after his poor performance in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Wednesday.
Tchatchoua started at right-wing-back against Arsenal at Molineux, but failed to make any positive impact on proceedings despite Wolves‘ impressive result.
The Cameroon international lost possession 14 times, completed just one accurate cross from four attempts, and lost six combined aerial and ground duels.
He was taken off for Rodrigo Gomes in the 70th minute, and Wolves looked a better team in the latter stages of the game as Sam Edozie notched a last-gasp equaliser.
Tchatchoua has started 13 Premier League games for the club since joining from Hellas Verona last summer, but fans of the Old Gold do not want to see that tally added to anytime soon.
Jackson Tchatchoua lambasted for ‘useless’ showing vs Arsenal
Wolves’ point against Arsenal has moved them onto double figures for the season, but despite some better recent form, they are still headed for Championship football next term.
Many supporters point to last summer’s failure of a summer window as a big reason for their downfall, with Tchatchoua one of six signings who arrived with no prior experience in English football.
It has been a testing debut Premier League season for the 24-year-old, with many fans unhappy at how he performed against Arsenal.
One took to X to ask: “Is anybody 100% sure that Jackson Tchatchoua is actually a professional footballer?”
While another said: “I’m physically unable to watch more minutes of Tchatchoua trying to play football.”
And one fan added: “Tchatchoua is not a footballer. I’m sorry, but if he’s playing in the Premier League (then) there’s hope for us all.”
Wolves created Premier League history with late draw against Arsenal
Edozie’s late equaliser had a much bigger impact on the Premier League title race rather than the relegation battle, but it still meant a lot to Wolves considering their lowly position and struggles this season.
Rob Edwards‘ side are now just one point away from equalling Derby County’s record-low total in the competition, and will back themselves to surpass the record in their last 11 games of the campaign.
One bit of history that they did create against the Gunners was becoming the first team in Premier League history to start the day at the bottom of the table and avoid defeat to the side starting the day top of it, despite trailing by two goals at some point in the match, according to Opta.
