How Liverpool can destroy rivals with record-breaking £150m Alexander Isak deal
Liverpool have the power to destroy their rivals with a record-breaking £150million deal for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international has been integral for the north-east giants since making his club-record £63million move from Real Sociedad in 2022.
The 25-year-old registered 27 goals and six assists in 42 appearances last season, helping his side finish fifth in the Premier League and win the Carabao Cup.
Football Insider revealed on 28 July Liverpool are increasingly “confident” of signing Isak after making him a top target this summer.
Arne Slot’s side made an initial approach about the possibility of agreeing a deal for the striker two weeks ago.
Isak then told Newcastle he wanted to explore a move away from St James’ Park, with Liverpool his favoured destination despite interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The Swede has recently been training alone with Real Sociedad after being left out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia.

Newcastle respond to Liverpool’s Alexander Isak offer
Liverpool have now ramped up their efforts to sign Isak this summer.
BBC Sport reported on 1 August the Reds have seen a bid rejected by Newcastle for their star forward.
The offer is believed to have been in the region of £110million plus add-ons despite the Tyneside club valuing Isak at around £150million.
There have been questions asked about how Liverpool could afford to sign Isak after already spending heavily this summer.
The Reds have spent around £270million in the current transfer window after signing Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Liverpool can keep spending this summer as they look to agree a deal for Isak.
It comes after Slot’s side largely kept their powder dry last season – only signing Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa – and they have made significant player-trading profits over the past few weeks.
Liverpool sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich earlier this week, with that deal worth a reported £65.5million.
Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips have also left Anfield this summer, while the potential big-money sales of Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott will set the club on course for their most profitable player-trading season ever.
The fact of the matter is, Liverpool can afford Newcastle’s £150million asking price for Isak.
That would break the Premier League’s transfer record, which they already smashed once this summer with the signing of Wirtz.

Liverpool could blow Man City away after £270m reveal
A deal for Isak would place the Reds as firm favourites to retain their Premier League title next season.
Manchester City could put up a stronger challenge after also making a flurry of new additions, with Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Sverre Nypan and James Trafford making the move to the Etihad Stadium.
However, the Mail reported on 30 July the incomings are now done for Pep Guardiola’s side after spending around £150million.
That means Liverpool could spend up to £270million more than Man City in the current window if they can finalise a deal for Isak.
Elsewhere, Arsenal and Chelsea have spent around the £200million mark, but neither club look set to challenge the Reds for the biggest-spender crown this summer.
