Huddersfield Town agree Lasse Sorensen deal after bid accepted – sources

Huddersfield have agreed a fee with Lincoln for wing-back Lasse Sorensen, sources have told Football Insider.

The Terriers have beaten off interest from several EFL rivals to land the former Danish youth international.

Sorensen, 24, impressed for Lincoln last season, chipping in with four goals and eight assists in 44 games in League One.

He also scored in the League Cup and FA Cup and started in 47 of his 51 appearances across all competitions.

The Lincoln star’s contract was set to expire this summer, but the Imps activated a one-year extension clause to ensure they could bank a fee if he were to depart.

Huddersfield agree to sign Sorensen from potential promotion rivals Lincoln

Sorensen primarily played as a right wing-back in the 2023-24 campaign but also featured in central midfield as well as a more attacking role on the right flank.

He can also star as a defensive midfielder, which was his primary position when coming through the ranks at Stoke City.

The 24-year-old came to England in 2016 and learned his trade at Stoke, making just eight senior appearances before leaving for Lincoln in 2021.

Huddersfield, who appointed Michael Duff as their new boss last month, are now set to make the Dane their first summer signing following relegation to League One in the 2023-24 campaign.

Potential promotion rivals Lincoln finished seventh in the third tier last term, missing out on a playoff place by just two points.
