Sources: Ex-Ipswich owner Evans in advanced talks to take over Huddersfield Town
Former Ipswich Town chairman Marcus Evans is in advanced talks to complete a takeover of Huddersfield Town, Football Insider understands.
Huddersfield are currently 75 per cent owned by Phil Hodgkinson and 25 per cent by ex-chairman Dean Hoyle.
An industry source has told Football Insider that Evans is ready to gain control of Huddersfield and negotiations are progressing well.

Evans was in control at Ipswich for 14 years before selling to American investment group Gamechanger last April.
The hospitality magnate has been looking for the right opportunity to get back into football.
Evans plans to keep former Huddersfield owner Hoyle as chief executive after he assumed the role on an interim basis at the end of December following the departure of Mark Devlin.
The Yorkshire club have been the subject of takeover talk since chairman Hodgkinson’s businesses went into administration last November.
Hoyle presided over the Terriers during their rise from League One to the Premier League.
Huddersfield, now in the Championship, have finished 18th and 20th in the two seasons since his departure.
Prospective new owner Evan has a net worth of £786million, according to The Sunday Times 2020 Rich List.

Huddersfield revealed an annual loss of £8.2m in their last set of financial results, which account for the year ending June 2020.
In a statement released in November (2021), the club reassured fans that it remains “able to meet its financial commitments over the short, medium, and long term” despite Hodgkinson’s business woes.
