Rodgers confirms major injury boost for Celtic CL clash v Anderlecht

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that star striker Moussa Dembele is fit and available for the Champions League showdown with Anderlecht at Parkhead on Tuesday night.

Dembele has scored four goals in the Champions League in the last two seasons, and his being fit is a massive boost for the Scottish champions ahead of an impact game.

The 21-year-old Frenchman suffered an ankle injury in the Betfred Cup Final victory over Motherwell, and missed the league games against Motherwell and Ross County as a result.

However, as indirectly quoted by Radio Clyde’s Alison Conroy’s Twitter account, Rodgers has confirmed that Dembele is able to play.

Dembele has been a massive success in Glasgow since joining the Bhoys from Fulham in 2016.

The French under 21 international grabbed 32 goals last season as the Hoops won their first domestic treble since 2001.

He has struggled with injury this term but in the last month has returned to form, as was displayed in his goal in the opening minute against PSG last month.

The Hoops go into the game three points and three goals ahead of the Belgian champions, in the battle for Europa League football.

The Bhoys just need to avoid a four goal defeat and they will be in the hat for the draw for the last 32 of the Europa League on the 11th of December.
