Hugo Bueno keen to join Celtic as new details emerge – O’Rourke
Celtic are still interested in bringing Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno to Glasgow, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke has revealed that the Scottish champions remain keen on bringing Bueno, 21, to the club to provide competition for Greg Taylor.
Football Insider revealed (July 26) that Wolves would be willing to accept a loan offer for Bueno are they’re keen for the Spaniard to play consistent top-level football to help with his development.
The player is said to be keen on a move to Celtic as they’re set to enter the Champions League group stage in September.
Wolves manager Gary O’Neill is in no rush to let Bueno go as the defender remains in his plans for the coming season.
Celtic still interested in a deal for Hugo Bueno
The Spain Under-21 international has been at Wolves for the entirety of his professional career so far, making 49 appearances and scoring once for the first-team.
Bueno is an attacking full-back and was often utilised higher up the pitch as a left midfielder by O’Neil last season.

With in-form Rayan Ait Nouri and Matt Doherty ahead of Bueno in the pecking order, first-team opportunities will be hard to come by for the youngster in the coming season.
Taylor is Celtic’s only first-team left-back at this moment in time so should he be injured or suspended, the club could be in some serious trouble.
The Scotland international has already bagged his first assist of the season, setting up teammate Reo Hatate for his opening goal against Kilmarnock.
