Hutton: Aston Villa may sell senior stars to fund Winks move 'if the rumours are true'
Alan Hutton has suggested Aston Villa will have to sell at least one midfielder if they want to sign Harry Winks.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Villa and Tottenham defender claimed Winks reminded him of Douglas Luiz in his style of play.
Football Insider revealed on 9 June Fabio Paratici was set to tell the midfielder Spurs would listen to offers for him this summer.
It is understood that Spurs would accept a bid of £30million for the 25-year-old.
The Telegraph reported on 30 June Aston Villa are “monitoring” his situation in north London.
Winks started just nine Premier League games last season, including two games after Jose Mourinho was sacked in April.

“I think he’s a good player, he’s very tidy and keeps things ticking over,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“It’s about how you fit everyone in. Are they going to have to move some players on? Obviously, they’ve got Nakamba, Douglas Luiz, John McGinn’s playing, that’s that. It’s him and somebody else.
“He does remind me of Douglas Luiz. He gets the ball, keeps it simple and moves it on. He keeps possession and is a very tidy player.
“It’s an interesting one to see how much they are willing to pay if the rumours are true and they do want him.
“We’ll have to wait and see.”
While Winks failed to nail down a regular starting spot in the league, he still managed 30 appearances across all competitions last term.
He was a regular in the cup competitions and started the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City.
