Hutton ‘aware’ of Goldson contract latest after late Rangers transfer reveal
Alan Hutton has suggested Connor Goldson could sign a new Rangers contract “in a couple of weeks” following the end of the transfer window.
The former Gers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 28-year-old’s situation had gone “under the radar” at Ibrox.
As revealed by Football Insider on Wednesday (1st September), Rangers rebuffed late-window interest in the centre-back despite his contract expiring next summer.

As such, the Gers risk losing him on a free next summer if he does not commit to new terms.
Speaking to Sky Sports (August 6th), Goldson confirmed talks were underway between his representatives and Rangers over a new deal.
Hutton suggested a deal could be done soon now the transfer window is closed.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “It’s kind of went under the radar a little bit with all the transfer talk, the window being open, all the different signings, who could be leaving.
“I am aware there was a contract offer made or talks and since then it’s went a little silent. We’ve not really heard anything.
“Steven Gerrard will be hoping he signs long term. This is a guy who was a rock last season, he’s the main man this season. It’s always him and someone else playing.
“He’s a leader for Rangers and that’s what they need moving forward to win games and trophies. They need people like that.
“Everyone wants this sorted as soon as possible. Then you can concentrate on your football.

“I always think when this is hanging over your head, should I sign a new contract, should I see my options in January, sometimes your performances can struggle.
“See Edouard, Morelos, these guys, it happens. Hopefully, it gets signed in the next couple of weeks, we can put it to bed and move forward.”
