Hutton: Celtic are working on deal to sign perfect Liel Abada replacement
Marco Tilio could replace Liel Abada at Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton said Tilio is the kind of player he would like to see at Ibrox.
According to the Daily Mail (23 June), the Hoops are working on a deal to land the 21-year-old this summer.
The winger is believed to be a priority target for the Glasgow giants amid interest from other clubs.
The Australia international is entering the final year of his contract at Melbourne City after joining back in 2020.
Although the Hoops already have a wealth of attacking options including Liel Abada, Daizen Maeda, Jota and James Forrest to name a few, there is a worry that former boss Ange Postecoglou could poach some of his ex-players and take them to Tottenham.
Hutton insisted Tilio will be an excellent addition whether as an alternative option or replacement for current squad members.
“From what I have seen of him I would bring him in,” he told Football Insider.
“For someone so young, he is very versatile. As a full-back, he is very difficult to defend against. He is small, low centre of gravity and can go both ways with pace.
“I think he would be another option.

“Reading into it, he is coming from Melbourne, I think this was one that was already in the pipeline under Ange. They have put the work in to go along with it already but he definitely ticks a lot of the boxes.
“It is somebody that the Celtic fans would probably really enjoy watching. We do not know what is happening with Abada, will he move? So there could be a free space there.“
