Hutton impressed by Ryan Kent physique after Rangers return
Alan Hutton has raved over Ryan Kent’s physique after stepping up his return to action for Rangers.
The former Gers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 24-year-old was looking “really trim” after the summer break.
The winger made his first pre-season appearance in the second-half against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday (July 10th)
He reportedly missed the Light Blues’ opening warm-up game against Partick Thistle with a knock picked up in the off-season.
Despite his return, Rangers lost 1-0 to Tranmere on Merseyside.
However, Hutton admitted he was very impressed with what he saw from Kent.

He suggested the winger had worked on his fitness and physique to slim down ahead of the new campaign.
“Ryan Kent I thought looked sharp,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“I know in the final third, Steven Gerrard was complaining about it.
“However, for his first game back, he looked really sharp.
“He looked like he’s been looking after himself over pre-season.
“He looked really trim, so hopefully that’s a good sign of things to come.”
Kent has been a key member of Steven Gerrard’s squad since joining on an initial loan from Liverpool in 2018.
He has played a total of 128 times across all competitions for the Gers, with 27 goals and 28 assists to his name.
The Oldham-born attacker played in all but four of Rangers’ 56 games last term.
He scored 13 goals, 10 in the Premiership, and contributed 15 assists.
