Hutton makes Bacuna claim after what he's heard at Rangers
Alan Hutton has tipped Juninho Bacuna to make his first start for Rangers against Livingston after Steven Gerrard dropped a hint.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Ibrox star admitted he was buzzing over the 24-year-old after a brief cameo against Motherwell.
Bacuna came off the bench to make his first appearance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Graham Alexander’s men.
As quoted by the Glasgow Times after the game, Gerrard revealed more opportunities are “imminent” for the summer signing.
Rangers play host to Livingston on Wednesday in the Scottish League Cup quarter-finals.
Hutton revealed he was impressed by Bacuna’s short runout against Motherwell.

As such, he claims Wednesday’s tie would be a “great opportunity” to hand him a start.
“I think he’s very robust, he can handle himself,” the Rangers TV pundit told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“He can get up and down the pitch and he looks an intelligent player, he does pick up good areas of the pitch for me.
“I know it was just a cameo role but Steven Gerrard came out and said in pre-season he had trained on his own.
“The Rangers fans, and himself, have to be patient because you have to wait to get to a level. Also to realise how Rangers want to play.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for him to start a game. He looks ready, he looks sharp, even though it’s a cameo role. It’s quite difficult to judge exactly what he’s going to bring to the table.
“If it does start in the cup game, we can get a right good look at him. So far, so good. I think he is different to what they’ve got, he can really drive the team as well.
“It looks like he can get about and do the defending side as well. I am very keen to see how he does. Let’s hope he starts.”
