Hutton: My heart bleeds for Barisic amid update on Rangers ace from Glasgow
Alan Hutton has admitted he is devastated Rangers ace Borna Barisic is set to miss out for Croatia against Scotland.
The former Gers right-back, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the left-back would be “gutted” to watch on from the sidelines at Hampden Park.
As quoted by injury expert Ben Dinnery, manager Zlatko Dalic confirmed the left-back would miss Tuesday’s clash in Glasgow due to an ongoing back injury.
Zlatko confirmed the Rangers ace had missed nearly a week of training with the problem.
The 28-year-old has not featured at all at the Euros so far as a result of the niggling injury.
Hutton admitted Barisic deserved to star for Croatia after such a good season with Rangers.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “It would have been a big opportunity for him, a massive game.
“Somewhere where he knows, Hampden, and playing in the country where he plies his trade. He will be gutted to miss it. One thing I will say is there’s another left-back coming through that’s coming through.
“He’ll push him all the way, he looks a very good player so he’s got a fight on his hands. It’s disappointing for him. Everybody knows how big the Euros are, it’s streamed all over the world, everybody watches it.
“You want to be playing your best football on that big stage so I do feel for him. He had a great season and then not being able to play is obviously.
“Hopefully he can recover quick. I want Scotland to go through so hopefully Croatia get knocked out, it’s one of those ones. But you want to see him back and firing for Rangers in pre-season.
Barisic played 50 times across all competitions for Rangers during the 2020/21 campaign, contributing 14 assists.
He has 20 international caps under his belt for Croatia.
