Hutton names two Rangers stars drinking in 'last chance' saloon who could be sold next month
Alan Hutton has claimed Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones need to have an “outstanding” pre-season to avoid being replaced at Rangers.
The former Ibrox defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, predicted the pair would be sold if Steven Gerrard manages to sign new wingers.
Barker and Jones both featured in the second half of Rangers’ pre-season loss to Tranmere Rovers.
The duo were suspended by Rangers for breaching social distancing rules last season before being shipped out on loan to League One sides.
Barker, 24, joined Oxford United while Jones, 26, headed to Sunderland.
With the duo now back training with Gerrard’s squad, he suggested only a sensational summer could save them from being sold.

Asked about the future of the two players, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think it’s always open. As a manager you have to be open-minded when it comes to your squad.
“At the end of the day they’re Rangers players and they deserve the chance to prove themselves.
“You’d probably think that this is their last chance. They have been given a lot of opportunities.
“For them to break into this team, they’re going to need to have an outstanding pre-season in my opinion.
“Obviously Gerrard is willing to have another look at them within these games. To see if they’re willing and ready to fight for their place, but I’m not so sure.
“It’s really down to them and what they give to try and sparkle in this pre-season.
“But I do think they are maybe two boys who will move on if reinforcements come in.”
Rangers have already signed John Lundstram and Fashion Sakala on free transfers.
Speaking to Rangers TV, Gerrard criticised his side’s efforts in the final third against Tranmere.
Rangers play Arsenal on Saturday in their third pre-season clash.
