Hutton tells Rangers to make major Ibrox change after 'amazing' sight
Alan Hutton has urged Rangers to stop preventing away fans from attending matches at Ibrox.
The former Gers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the atmosphere at the famous ground was lacking without “back and forth” between rival supporters.
Rangers’ next opponents Motherwell confirmed on Monday that they wouldn’t be receiving an away allocation for the trip to Ibrox due to Covid restrictions.
Before the international break, Celtic fans saw their Old Firm tickets cancelled after initially receiving an away allocation of 700.
Rangers are set to commemorate last season’s league title triumph by unfurling the league winner’s flag in front of a partisan capacity crowd before Sunday’s kick off.
Hutton insisted away fans should return to Ibrox as soon as possible after his experiences at the Old Firm fixture last month.

“It’s a strange one,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“If you look at the St Johnstone game at the weekend, both Rangers ends were full up so they can get the money through gate receipts.
“On one hand they’ll get the atmosphere for the flag unfurling. The fans haven’t seen it yet so they’ll want as many in as possible.
“But you need the away fans in the ground. I was there for the Old Firm game and the atmosphere was amazing.
“But you want the away fans there, it was just missing them.
“It’s always a better atmosphere when you have that back and forth going with both sets of supporters.”
Rangers were set to unfurl the league flag prior to the season opener against Livingston in July.
However, they decided to wait until Saturday in order to ensure a capacity crowd could watch the historic event.
