Alan Hutton has suggested Marcelo Bielsa’s incredible demands may have led to Rodrigo’s latest injury lay-off at Leeds United.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the summer signing looked to be struggling with the physical toll of training.
As quoted by journalist Phil Hay, Bielsa confirmed the Spain international is still recovering from the muscular injury which kept him out against Manchester City.
From Bielsa's presser – Raphinha is a doubt for the Liverpool game with the knock sustained at City. Rodrigo is still recovering from a muscular problem.

The 30-year-old picked up the problem in training ahead of the Whites’ 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.
Rodrigo has struggled to stay fit this season and missed a large part of the campaign due to a groin injury.
Hutton suggested the short pre-season and rapid turnaround between games had led to many muscular issues across the Premier League.
However, he admitted Bielsa’s notoriously intense demands will not have helped.
“Bielsa’s demands are through the roof. He wants his players to be running full tilt for 90-plus minutes,” Hutton told Football Insider Russell Edge.
“That could be affecting him. Look, it’s a long season, it’s quick turnarounds, there are games every other day. It’s as a strange season, obviously coming into a new league where it’s a very intense pressure situation.
“These can all affect a player and it’s about getting used to it.
“Hopefully, next season will be different in terms of the games will be more spread out. They won’t have to condense the season, hopefully. So, he might be able to get used to it that way.
“I think there’s a whole lot of factors that go into these sort of little muscle tears and muscle injuries this season. A lot of teams have had to go through the same.”
