Hutton: Three Rangers stars set to start their last game for the club
Alan Hutton has backed Alfredo Morelos to make one last appearance before departing Rangers this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said it has been an “unfortunate” end to Morelos’ time at Ibrox but insisted he deserves a last farewell.
The 26-year-old was left out of the squad for Sunday’s 3-1 win over Hibernian and was an unused substitute in his latest game against Glasgow rivals Celtic as they recorded their first win over the Hoops this season with a 3-0 victory.
On Tuesday (23 May) Rangers confirmed that the Colombian will be leaving the club in the summer when his contract expires alongside Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield, Filip Helander and Ryan Kent.
The Gers still have two Premiership fixtures remaining after a disappointing season under Beale that sees them without silverware.
When asked if Morelos should be given playing time in his final games for the club, Hutton told Football Insider: “He was not in the squad against Hibs so I do not really know what is going on.
“I would have thought the likes of McGregor, Morelos, Arfield, would probably start the game, a kind of farewell. But Morelos I am not 100 per cent sure what is happening with him.

“If you put aside everything that has happened recently, the transfer rumours, he has been a great servant to the football club. He has scored some amount of goals, big goals as well.
“It would be nice to see him one last time because he has been a great signing it is just unfortunate the way it has ended.”
