Alan Hutton has suggested Rangers could be bombarded with offers for Ryan Kent this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Ibrox defender insisted the 24-year-old would have a host of suitors after impressing this season.

As revealed by Football Insider, Kent has a £20million release clause in his contract.

This site also detailed how the Gers rejected a £10million offer from Leeds United last summer.

Steven Gerrard confirmed the Whites’ offer at the time and Kent remained at Ibrox despite talk of an improved £14million offer.

Kent has scored 12 goals and contributed 13 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Hutton insisted clubs would be scrambling to sign the winger this summer.

However, he questioned if anyone would be willing to trigger his eight-figure release clause.

“I think teams will be looking for him, I’m absolutely sure about that,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“He’s had a season where he’s done very well in spells. Obviously he’s had a little dip but that’s normal with the number of games he’s had to play.

“If somebody comes in with a £20million bid I think they’ll seriously have to think about it.

“I think that’s the level he’s at. £14 million was knocked back from Leeds and they tried to come back in for him but £20million is obviously the mark that suits Rangers.

“They would obviously want as much as possible but if they’ve put that release clause in there, that’s what they value him at.

“It’s a big sum of money, especially in today’s market. Whether they would get that, I’m not sure but he’s definitely one of the top performers for Rangers.”
